What is Kaleo?
Kaleo is a nine week, intensive summer training opportunity for college students who are ready to take their relationship with God and their personal ministry to the next level.
How do I get to Kaleo?
A student who is interested in applying should contact a Stu Mo staff person. You will receive an application to fill out and return to Stu Mo staff. We will evaluate your application and let you know if you have been accepted to the project.
What is Kaleo like?
You will be living with 3-4 other Christian students who also have a desire to grow in their faith. This will be your Discipleship Group, or "D-Group." You will eat, pray and study the Word together. Your D-group leader will be a student who has a desire to serve you and help you grow in Christ. You will also be part of a project of 50 to 100 students who will also be hooked up in D-Groups. This community will be a source of lifelong friendships as you experience the summer together.
You will also have a 35-40 hour per week job in the community. This will be a great time to learn servanthood, make friends, share your faith and make some money!
The weekly evening schedule will include a worship/rally night, a Bible study preparation night, a D-Group Bible study night. There will be other special events during the summer as well. On Sunday your D-group will attend and serve a local church together. Kaleo will also have an evangelism time during the weekend. Free time is also spread throughout the week and weekend.
What does Kaleo cost?
Kaleo cost varies by location. Generally it is $2,300 - $2,500 and may include some meals. Stu Mo will train participants to raise financial support. Raising funds allows students to save the money they earn rather than using to pay project fees.
