Marlou grew up in a religious household but had no concept of a relationship with God. He would often do many religious activities and traditions with his family which are common in the context of the Philippines. Like many, he believed that his good deeds were good enough to earn a right standing before God. Jared met Marlou at the gym one day and started developing a friendship with him. Early on they started talking about their mutual value for faith. Although growing up in a religious family, Marlou had never read the Bible for himself before and was immediately intrigued as to how applicable the Bible is to his life as a college student. Marlou then began the process of reading the Word for himself for the first time in his life, and his whole life started to change.
Now, Marlou is reading the Bible consistently and has a deep desire to be a godly man who honors God with every area of his life. He desires to impact his friends, Marcos, Kirvy, and Josh, in their faith as well. Although Marlou is still young in his faith, he is growing consistently and could be a key man in the start of the Davao movement.
