Marlou grew up in a religious home in the Philippines, faithfully practicing the traditions of his family but never understanding what it meant to have a personal relationship with God. He believed, like many around him, that his good works were enough to earn a right standing before God.
That changed when Marlou met Jared, a StuMo staff member, at the gym and began building a friendship with him. As they talked, Marlou shared that he had never actually read the Bible for himself. When Jared offered to open Scripture together, Marlou was immediately intrigued by how practical and relevant God’s Word was to his life as a college student. For the first time, he began reading the Bible on his own—and his life started to change.
Today, Marlou is consistently in the Word and growing in his desire to become a godly man who honors God in every area of his life. He’s already praying for and investing in his friends, hoping they will experience the same transformation he’s found. Though new in his faith, Marlou is growing steadily and could become a key student in launching the movement in Davao.
