Annual Report 2024

Thank You for Making Ministry Possible

Today’s generation is navigating a world of noise — struggling to discern what matters most. Their purpose is undefined.  Their vision is unclear. But in the midst of uncertainty, there’s a divine calling to join God in what He is doing.   It’s an invitation to witness the remarkable.  It’s a pathway to become the leaders that God designed them to be. They are the businessmen and women of tomorrow. They are the next era of church leaders. They are the faith-filled educators, parents, and community leaders of the future that our world desperately needs … if only they will answer the call.

The staff of Student Mobilization are on campuses here and overseas to help this generation encounter the living God and ignite their faith.  Our Kaleo summer project is a nine-week spiritual adventure to establish a foundation of hope that will last a lifetime.

We pray that God will launch these leaders into the world, carrying the Good News of Jesus wherever they go – to marketplace and mission field, to every community and continent. Year after year, we’ve watched God raise up new workers to send out to His harvest — students who are ready to move. And that’s why we are here. God has given StuMo the opportunity to encourage and equip these men & women.  Because of you – our friends, parents and donors – we are answering His call to empower today’s generation of leaders who will build His Kingdom.

The world is noisy, but the calling is clear. This is our time, our opportunity to respond. This is our moment to answer the call.  Thank you for making this ministry possible.

28 Staffed Campuses

A Staffed Campus is an established campus to which we have committed a staff team and the campus ministry has been going on for more than two full years.

University of Utah - Launch Team.jfif

Launching in 2025

University of Utah

Our team is launching StuMo at the University of Utah in the Fall of 2025! We are so excited to engage with students from all over the world that are drawn to this campus because of the mountains that tower over the city. On our first trip to Utah, we ate lunch with a table of guys in the dining hall and 8 states were represented at the table. This gets us so excited for the potential of what God can do at a campus with students who will spread out to the world when they graduate! We also can’t wait to see what God does locally to an area that has a ton of confusion around the topic of God altogether. Please pray that God would bless our launch to Utah!

University of Georgia

Year two at the University of Georgia is off to a great start for our staff team in Athens! We’re grateful for the doors God has opened for relationships on campus, and we’re praying for men and women eager to surrender their lives to Jesus. Please join us in praying for key leaders to be raised up in the Greek system at UGA, for 20 students from UGA to attend our winter conference, SMC, and for students to recognize their need for Jesus in the midst of a successful, affluent culture.

We are encouraged by how God has provided for our team and this move to the Southeast. We trust He will continue to use our time here to raise up spiritual leaders for Christ who will be sent out to the nations and wherever He leads. We’re excited to give our lives to this campus so that more students, like Calhoun, can hear the Gospel and experience life in Jesus. Go Dawgs!

clemson .jpg

Clemson University

As we wrap up our first fall at Clemson, our staff are so encouraged. We have spent countless hours on campus - learning all about Clemson, building friendships with many students, and having opportunities to help students discover who Jesus is and what it means to follow Him!

What gets us so excited is the potential of Clemson. God has gone before us in many ways, giving us many friendships, great favor, and plenty of open doors to the campus. Join us in praying for what God will do at Clemson in the months and years to come!

Houston 1.jfif

University of Houston

Our goals for our first year at the University of Houston have been to explore the campus, build deep relationships with students, and share the Gospel. We’ve spent hours meeting students in dorms, student centers, and cafeterias, leading to great friendships and opportunities to share Christ.

Here are some highlights from our first few months: We've connected with students from diverse areas across campus like the dance, cheer, track and soccer teams as well as several fraternities and sororities. Four StuMo Bible studies have started, with 50 students attending. Our staff has had 23 decision opportunities, and two students have given their lives to Christ! Additionally, 28 students have signed up for SMC.

Each of these students is deeply loved by God, and we’re praying that our work on campus will bring them into a relationship with Him for His glory!

Ministry After College

Our vision is to meet college students, reach them with the gospel, establish them in their faith, equip them for ministry and send them out as laborers for a lifetime.

Ryder
Dallas, TX

Ryder has a heart for the world. After graduating from the University of Oklahoma in 2024, he moved to Dallas to work in the marketplace with the desire to bring together his heart for the world and his vocation in the marketplace. He joined a church in Dallas and connected with several buddies he was involved in StuMo with named Caden, Antonio, and Luke. These four StuMo graduates took their passion for business and the 10/40 window and hatched a plan to form a 501c3 called “Your Mission.” Their mission statement is “Make God’s Mission, Your Mission”. They intend to take business people from their church and the Dallas area on short-term trips to the 10/40 Window to connect with long-term teams there to give marketplace people an opportunity to get their feet wet doing cross-cultural evangelistic missions for the first time. Their hope is to see business men and women come back with a vision to support these teams relationally and financially, grow in their desire to live on mission back home, and even see some go overseas long-term themselves. They recently received their tax exemption from the IRS and soon they are taking their first trip to Japan. Currently, they have plans to connect with other teams in Thailand in March 2025 and another trip in October 2025. Praise God for the way He is using these laborers to connect business men and women with God’s global mission.

! maci.jpg

Maci
Dallas, TX

Maci graduated from Baylor in 2023 and was torn between moving overseas to Tokyo or working for a private school in Dallas in their fundraising and events department. Ultimately, she chose the job at the school, feeling called to stay near friends in Dallas—many of whom were lost or new to their faith. She wanted to continue doing life with them while pointing them to Jesus. Throughout the year, Maci looked for ways to live out her faith as a Global Christian and share the gospel with those around her. She joined a Launch Global 9-month Go Group through her church and moved into an apartment complex primarily home to refugees. There, she built relationships with two women, Tonya and Shrudi, from Asia, and shared the gospel with them. She continues to love and serve them, showing them the love of Jesus. Maci also partners with a ministry that pairs high school students from lower-income areas with mentors. Not only has she mentored students and seen breakthroughs in several girls’ lives, but she also invited 30 of her Baylor friends to join the program with her! Yes, 30! They meet with Maci weekly to talk about their faith, discipleship strategies, and how they’re walking with their mentees. Maci’s story is a powerful example of how God is using her to impact lives both near and far.

Kaleo

Kaleo is a Greek word which means, “to call or invite.” Calling college students to lives of meaning and purpose is the fastest, most strategic way to grow the body of Christ. It’s the sure path for a revived, reinvigorated and growing church. Kaleo is often called, “The Summer of Your Life.” Kaleo is designed to engage and empower tomorrow’s leaders. Thank you for supporting the Kaleo Summer Projects in Orlando, Gulf Shores and Palm Coast.

Kaleo 2024

“Kaleo was a turning point for me. I saw what it meant to truly live out my faith, and I knew I couldn’t keep that to myself.”

- Jordan, Texas Christian University

“This summer, God radically changed my heart. I learned how to have intimacy with Him, found freedom in Christ, and gained true biblical community. Because of the time I invested this summer in God’s Word, my understanding of His love and purpose for my life has deepened”

Each summer we invite one thousand leaders to participate in a nine-week immersive discipleship experience which is called the Kaleo Summer Project. Kaleo multiplies and launches spiritual leaders who want to disciple and influence back on campus and beyond. A summer at Kaleo ends up totaling over 200 hours of structured time seeking God. That’s more input than two full school years for a student involved in our ministry on campus. Kaleo is life changing. It is the spiritual engine of our ministry.  It is the fuel for our growth, and it’s by far the best thing we do.

As our ministry has grown, Kaleo is at risk each summer. Kaleo must frequently change locations summer-to-summer based upon where staff can book enough rooms.  In truth, this search effort is a huge distraction from what StuMo staff are passionate about, which is building spiritually into the students.  We began to pray seven years ago about a way to stabilize Kaleo. After 40 years of experience, we know that Kaleo thrives on the beach as an attractive and strategic environment.  When we’re recruiting a student who is on the fence, a “summer at the beach” can make all the difference.  When it comes to training in evangelism, there’s no replacement for a beach, with masses of idle people, typically young people, available and willing to hear someone’s very first attempt at presenting the gospel.  It is a precious spiritual experience, and it takes place in a special beach-front environment.

As we have prayed, planned and cast this vision, the Lord has answered our prayers!  Right now, Phase 1 of “Kaleo Home Base” is well under construction in Panama City Beach, Florida. This will be an awesome location to stabilize our discipleship project, locate summer jobs and train the next generation of leaders. Phase 1 is a $22 million project to prepare the 12-acre campus and construct 41 big, family-sized units which can hold over 300 StuMo staff and Kaleo student participants.

SPECIAL REQUEST:

Will you consider vacationing here between August 1, 2025 and May 15, 2026?

We want our friends to come to Panama City Beach with their family, friends, or church group and experience our facility, which is now called, “The Pines at West Bay.” Come for the large units, great weather, pickleball, huge pool and enjoy time with those you love. Reservations will be available be online soon! This is a special place, and we want to share it with you!

SMC (StuMo Conference)

SMC is StuMo’s 4-day, 3-night conference where students hear from dynamic speakers across the country about what it looks like to follow Christ in college. This year, we are celebrating SMC 2024 being our largest conference yet with over 3,800 college students from thirty different campuses attending our conferences in Branson, MO and Dallas, TX. We are praying that they will become the next generation of spiritual leaders on their campus and eventually in the world.

STUMO IN JAPAN

This year StuMo staff continued to invest in college ministry and church planting among the next generation in Tokyo, Japan. Through the intercollegiate college club “StuMo Japan”, they hosted multiple events each month for students from the major universities around Tokyo. These events served them well in deepening friendships with students and facilitating small group and one-on-one evangelistic and discipleship relationships on campus! By God’s grace the Shibuya staff team has started a new church plant in their area and had the privilege of baptizing their first believer in the church!

StuMo is now overseeing two church plants in downtown Tokyo and have begun dreaming of the ways multiple churches could partner together to encourage each other, share resources, develop leaders, and plant more churches in the future!

Over 100 StuMo students and staff from the states came to Japan on spring break and summer teams this year! Since Covid’s travel restrictions were lifted a few years ago, they have experienced a significant uptick in short-term teams visiting Japan, which in turn has resulted in many new applicants desiring to join the full-time teams. Twelve new StuMo missionaries are joining the field here in Tokyo! By this upcoming January, there will be 28 full time staff laboring in Tokyo along with 10 children under the age of seven. A few of the children have begun attending Japanese preschool/kindergarten and it’s been special to see the Lord provide community connection and new ministry opportunities for the staff families.

The Tokyo StuMo Staff also experienced painful times this year of seeing dear friends who had previously professed faith in Christ walk away from the community. They hope and pray for God to change their hearts and bring them back into fellowship one day.

There are many difficulties and troubles in this life of ministering in Japan, but our staff count it as joy and know it is producing an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. We are so grateful for all God is doing in Tokyo, Japan.

April 2024

This year, more than 300 staff members from 28 campuses gathered in Branson, MO, for our annual StuMo Staff Conference—a time of reflection, celebration, growth, and a little fun! Our team was inspired by powerful speakers, took part in practical breakout sessions, and enjoyed some downtime at Silver Dollar City. This event is always a highlight of the year, giving our staff the opportunity to recharge and refocus on StuMo's mission of raising up spiritual leaders for Christ on college campuses around the world.

Welcome our New Staff!
Web_staff.png

Thank You!

Thank you for your generous giving and your gracious prayers this year. They have been instrumental in God's work through Student Mobilization. We believe God can use us together even more as we trust Him in 2025!

Below are four giving ideas for investing spiritually in the next generation through StuMo. We are grateful for you and look forward to partnering with you in 2025!

Four Ways to Give

1

Consider giving to the ministry of a StuMo staff person as a ‘thank you’ for investing in your college student at our Kaleo Summer Project.

2

Give an extra 13th monthly gift to the ministry of your StuMo staff person or family. This strategic gift keeps our staff funded and on campus

3

Make a gift to one of our campus funds. A gift to our campus funds will enable our staff to provide student scholarships to our SMC conference or cover costs of our large group worship gatherings.

4

Invest in StuMo’s overall vision and support what StuMo is doing worldwide.
