Within a month of arriving on campus and connecting with the football team, our staff met Ryan, a senior captain from Texas. Ryan grew up without a strong faith background and spent his early college years consumed by football and the party scene. After some tragic events in his family, a friend invited him to church—where, for the first time, he heard the gospel and decided to follow Jesus.

When our staff sat down with Ryan, he shared that he had never read the Bible on his own but had always wished someone would show him how. Since that meeting, Ryan hasn’t missed a single day of reading God’s Word. He has incredible influence on his team and a deep desire to use his leadership to impact his teammates spiritually; he just didn’t know how. Ryan’s life reveals the need for laborers!
